Deviant is a movement towards a free, inclusive world for all queer people of color. We create safe & supportive spaces for Black and Brown queer people to explore their sexual & social identities while unpacking the prison of shame.
SEX POSITIVITY
Throughout our lives, we have been taught to shame ourselves for exploring sex.
Slut-shaming and stigmatization around queer communities and STIs has driven sex practices underground and increased risky behaviors.
Deviant seeks to reduce shame by encouraging safer sexual exploration and normalizing sex as a form of self-care and self-expression.
BODY POSITIVITY
A large part of loving ourselves inside and out is unlearning the harm caused by images of a modern standard of beauty.
Part of our mission is to create spaces and experiences that empower all of us to love our bodies and appreciate the beauty in others.
Drug Safety
Part of the Deviant experience is empowering Black and Brown queer people with the self-esteem to take better care of their health.
In our efforts to reduce harm as people explore their interests and kinks, we provide access to health information, precautions around substance use, and safer sexual practices.
